Western Digital introduces its new series of MyBook 3.0 external hard drives, adopting USB 3.0, announced up to 10 times faster than current USB 2.0 standard. Already available, MyBook 3.0 external hard drives from Western Digital offers a comfortable space for storage of 1TB (2TB model will be available soon) and a transfer rate increased, with the support of the SuperSpeed USB.
The range MyBook fastest so far
The USB 3.0 interface allows for MyBook 3.0 external hard drives at speeds of 5 Gbits / s, opening and saving files 4.7 times faster than USB 2.0. Conforming to the USB-IF 3.0 SuperSpeed, the records of the MyBook range are nonetheless compatible with USB 2.0 products and USB 1.1. “The technology is developed and is no longer waiting for users,” said Dale Pistilli, Vice President Marketing of Branded Products group WD. “Our new My Book drive ultra fast 3.0 provide the required performance for the most demanding applications like video editing, animation and graphic design.”

The MyBook 3.0 has a manufacturer warranty of 2 years, and is available at a price of 175 euros. A kit consisting of MyBook 3.0 and a USB 3.0 PCI card (gen2) is also available at a price of 195 euros. The 2TB model will be available soon.
