The development of range of the new Mercedes E-Class continues. The brand is preparing to star in effect to sell models with 4-wheel drive appointed Matic. With the approach of winter and the first flakes of snow, Mercedes took the opportunity to unveil the E Class 4 Matic. The AWD system will be built on the sedan and station wagon body.
But beware, this technology will not be available with all engines. The firm says the star that only versions diesel and petrol V6 developing 231, 292 and 388 hp will be marketed. On a more technical level, transmission 4Matic has been scheduled for distribution of torque 45:55 (front: rear) and even 30:70. With this implementation, the objective is obviously to improve the adhesion and motility.
But Mercedes is not content with this aid. Engineers have optimized the system effect by adjusting the ESP (trajectory control), ASR (Traction Control) and 4ETS (traction control specific). The latter is also quite impressive to use. Electronic sensors able to detect differences in adhesion between the wheels and do so independently. For example, if the left wheel is on the snow while the left turns on asphalt, the braking system focus on the left wheel.
