Canon officially announced the Canon EOS 7D, direct response to Nikon D300 and Pentax K-7. I’m not going back on features, we now know them. Until now, half a line separating the devices from Canon and Nikon, but times have changed and Nikon has taken the lead in the semi-pro segment. So, exit the courtesies, we pass to the direct competition.
In terms of ownership, the Canon EOS 7D suggests that incorporates the EOS 5D Mark II and therefore an excellent grip. Canon has had the good idea to review some keys and it is obviously better placed now. Note for example the key RAW + JPEG which enables shooting in RAW or not, this is not much but it is super valuable and practical. Echoing that offer Nikon SLR and Canon now offers personalization of some of the buttons that does not necessarily mean you’re back and with a casing which is a little more to the user. Next, and finally a well with casing and tropicalized under 100%, we are glad to see that Canon has not turned a deaf ear to its users.

The autofocus has been revised upwards and honestly, it’s night and day with the EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 50D, the options associated with the collimators and exposure measurement react very well. Obviously, I could not test yet in condition but promising. One may ask the benefit of a 18 megapixel APS-C sensor, but Canon replied that their 18 megapixel sensor gave the same results as 15 megapixels of the EOS 50D and without compromise. So, the brand chose to offer this 18-megapixel sensor. Me, I might have preferred they keep the 15 megapixel sensor, but it improves much more sensitivity or even a full-size sensor of 12 megapixels, but it would have been shadowed in the EOS 5D Mark II. In short, only testing will tell us if the Japanese firm was correct or not.
Note also the Speedlite Transmitter built and new accessories like a new handle with WiFi built-in Bluetooth, not to share pictures with your phone but to couple the EOS 7D with a Bluetooth GPS!. In conclusion on this quick start, Canon offers a direct response to the couple D300s/D700 Nikon with the EOS 7D and EOS 5D Mark II. If video is important for you and the manual side does not bother you, Canon has an edge over Nikon in this area. Now, still picture quality, especially on the new 18-megapixel sensor of the EOS 7D that begs to be tested and who yet remains the great unknown. So I began to dream of a 5D Mark II but with all the new 7D
