Apple has released a new update for its operating system Mac OS X Snow Leopard. 10.6.2 stamped, it fixes various problems and takes care of Atom processors. There are less than a week we discovered that a beta Mac OS X 10.6.2 again bore Atom processors, while this was not the case on a previous build (see this article).
Unfortunately, Apple has opted to remove support for Atom processors on the final version of the update 10.6.2. Concretely, this means the end of Hackintosh on Netbooks, that is to say, installing Mac OS X on this type of machines that operate with a large majority Atom processor.
Since the release of Mac OS X 10.6.2, some still tried to install this system on a netbook. The end result is a continuous cycle of reboot of the device, as you can see on the video below. Do not panic however, if you want to enjoy Mac OS X Snow Leopard on your netbook, certainly some small malignant will soon release a modified version of the 10.6.2 update so that the atoms are again supported.
Besides the end of the support for Atom processors, Mac OS X 10.6.2 fixes many concerns related to fonts, to the graphics in Mail, MobileMe, to network file systems, printing and faxing and Safari. Below is a list of overall improvements :
